Joining Hands for the New Development of the Tourism Industry under the Guidance of the “Belt and Road Initiative”

The first large regional conference, jointly hosted by WTCF and its city member, Penang, came to a conclusion on March 27th. The theme of the conference was “One Belt One Road: Construction of Tourism City Corridor and City Hub.” After a series of activities, including travel promotion exhibitions, keynote speeches, and panel discussions; WTCF launched the Call to Action: Building City Hubs on the Belt and Road Tourism City Corridor.

WTCF Expert Committee Re-election Meeting is Held

In March 26, 2017, on the occasion of the 2017 WTCF Asia Pacific Tourism Conference, WTCF held the re-election meeting of the Expert Committee in Penang, Malaysia. At the meeting, the revised draft of the “Statutes of Expert Committee of World Tourism City Federation” was approved. Prof. Karl Wöber was elected as Director of the Expert Committee and Wei Xiao’an was elected as Chief Expert of the committee.

WTCF Asia-Pacific Conference 2017 was grandly opened in Penang, city of Malaysia. About 300 guests are invited to attend this year’s conference, including delegates from UNWTO, city and institutional members of WTCF, members of WTCF Expert Committee as well as delegates from Penang State Government.
